After a few weeks of searching for opening acts, Oasis has just announced their final supporting band for their upcoming 2025 tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland. It looks like English indie-rock outfit Cast will be joining the band on tour!

Cast will open for Noel and Liam Gallagher for each date on their summer 2025 tour. Those dates will include quite a few gigs at Wembley Stadium in London, as well as a few gigs in Oasis’ native Manchester at Heaton Park. Richard Ashcroft of Verve will also make an appearance as a special guest at the concerts.
Why Did Oasis Choose Cast To Open For Their 2025 Tour?
It actually makes perfect sense why Oasis chose Cast to open for their highly-anticipated UK/Ireland tour next year. Both bands are staples in Britpop and indie rock. Noel Gallagher, specifically, has praised Cast in the past. Specifically, he said that the band’s frontman John Power is “as cosmic as the day is long.” Colorful words for a colorful band, we’d say.
Liam Gallagher is also a bit of a fan as well. He brought the band with his earlier this year as part of the Definitely Maybe anniversary tour.
It looks like the members of Cast are pretty excited about the upcoming reunion, too.
“I’m blown away at the reunion,” said Power in a recent statement. “Oasis are the voice of a generation and the songs that they wrote and sung were and still are the soundtrack to many people’s dreams. They are the people’s band.”
Some fans of Oasis online weren’t exactly happy with the selection. Specifically, a few people pointed out that it was disappointing that Oasis did not choose a younger, up-and-coming band to enjoy the exposure of being their opener. Liam Gallagher took to X to call out the nay-sayers.
“To all the folk who are crying about us not showing love to the young bands and not letting them support there’s LEVELS to this game and I’m afraid 99 p cent of ya are way off,” said Gallagher.
For reference, Cast has been in the game since 1992. While it would have been interesting to see a younger, lesser-known band take that coveted spot on Oasis’s reunion tour, we think Cast is a very fitting choice.
