“Pink c*caine” refers to a recreational drug that typically mixes other substances like methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA. And according to multiple reports released Monday (Oct. 21), a partial autopsy showed pink c*caine in Liam Payne’s body when he fell to his death.

Additionally, Payne had c*caine, benzodiazepine and c*ack in his system, according to the preliminary autopsy.

Tributes Pour In

Liam Payne was just 14 years old when he auditioned for The X Factor in 2008. He was cut after a couple rounds, but judge Simon Cowell encouraged him to return in two years.

He did, this time teaming up with with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik to form a five-piece boy band. After coming in third place, One Direction was signed to Cowell’s Syco Entertainment.

The British quintet went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time, with chart-topping hits like “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Best Song Ever.”

In 2016, One Direction went on indefinite hiatus. Tomlinson, Horan, Malik and Styles remembered Liam Payne in a joint statement posted to the group’s Instagram account Thursday (Oct. 17.)

“We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing,” they said. “In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.”
