Peso Pluma Announces New Album, Includes Song Named after Lady Gaga

New music from Mexican hitmaker Peso Pluma is on the horizon. The artist – born Hassan Emilio Kabande – turned to social media late Tuesday evening (June 13) to announce his forthcoming album, Génesis. The project is expected to arrive on June 22.

According to Rolling Stone, the album will include 14 songs and will feature an array of his chart-topping hits, including “Bye,” “77” with Eladio Carrión, and “Rosa Pastel,” a duet with Jasiel Nuñez.

The collection will be star-studded, as it will be bursting with collaborations. Los Angeles-based artist Junior H, Latin singer Dareyes De La Sierra, Edgardo Nuñez, and Tito Double P have made their way onto the much-anticipated album. Génesis will also include Gabito Ballesteros. The two previously joined forces on “AMG,” a Spanish-speaking track with a Salsa-ready tempo soaked with trumpets and guitar pulls.

The song debuted at No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The hit gained traction on TikTok following the release, as more than 160,000 users incorporated the song into their videos. “AMG” served as Ballesteros’ first appearance on Billboard’s prestigious list, as Pluma accomplished the career goal in April 2022 with “El Belicón.”

Pluma will also intertwine three new solo songs into the upcoming LP – “Rubicon,” “Zapata,” and “Nueva Vida.” The extensive track list will also have a song named after Lady Gaga.

“We’ve been working on the album for a year now, and I’ve been producing it for a while,” Peso Pluma told Variety. “It’s an album of all Mexican music that’s almost ready. We have plans in place to release it later this summer, and I’m also working to release some singles in the urban space very, very soon.”

Peso Pluma will pull from the album on his first-ever U.S. tour. The headlining trek will kick off in early July at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California. The multi-city run will conclude on October 6, after hitting massive markets such as New York, Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, and more. Tickets are available, HERE
