The Rolling Stones have been taking some much-needed downtime since finishing their extensive 2024 North American tour in support of their album Hackney Diamonds. The band hasn’t played in England since 2022. So, some hoped that they would be gearing up for a European tour in 2025. However, that won’t happen.
According to a report from The Times, the Stones turned down a multimillion-pound offer to play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The report further states that the band received several “multiple-date options” for 2025 but they opted to pass on them. These offers also included dates in Rome, Barcelona, and Paris.

The report further stated that prior commitments and issues with travel and venues stopped the band from embarking on a European tour in 2025. However, they hope to return to the road in Europe next year.
The Rolling Stones Thought About a 2025 European Tour
Last year, Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood spoke to Tom Sutcliffe for BBC’s Front Row. During the conversation, he revealed that the Stones considered taking on more dates this year. “Yeah hopefully,” Wood said when asked if the Stones planned to get back on the road. “A tour of Europe, we’re hoping for next year,” he added.
While it doesn’t look like the Rolling Stones will embark on that European tour, Wood is seemingly busy with another project. He, Rod Stewart, and Kenney Jones have been working on a new Faces album, the first since they released Ooh La La in 1973.
“I’ve been in the studio with the Faces last week, and we are making some continued developments of music we made back in the day,” Wood said of that project. “It still sounds like no time has gone by.” The band has been working on the new album since at least 2021. They hope to put together a collection of new songs and previously unreleased material from previous recording sessions. However, there is no word on when, or if, the album will see the light of day.
