Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live kicked off a historic season for the show. Marking its 50th season, the show welcomed new cast members and seasoned veterans. With the night packed with hilarious moments and performances by Jelly Roll, not every sketch made it on the broadcast. And while Jelly Roll showcased his new song “Winning Streak”, apparently, the country singer also appeared in a sketch that ended up being cut. But thankfully, SNL decided to go ahead and release the clip that had Jelly Roll portraying a lovable Lord of the Rings character.

The sketch showed a group of friends gathering around to watch another season of “Blonde Dragon People.” Playing on the massive world of Game of Thrones and House of The Dragon, the sketch revealed just how confusing the series can be for those who aren’t educated on the turbulent relationships between families. And if the storylines weren’t confusing enough, Jelly Roll eventually surfaced alongside Andy Samberg as Samwise Gamgee from Lord of the Rings. Samberg portrayed Legolas. The only problem, Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones are entirely different.
Jelly Roll Performs “Winning Streak”
Confusing for even the cast, the sketch featured hilarious comparisons between Amazon Prime and HBO Max. And while it was just a joke, fans agreed with the sketch, writing, “This is sort of how I felt when I watched the first episode of the second season of HotD. So halfway through the episode, I stopped and rewatched the last 2 episodes of the first season.”
Although having his part cut, Jelly Roll ended the night with a special performance of his new song “Winning Streak.” Surrounding the ups and downs of sobriety, the singer commanded the stage and fans loved every second. “Jelly Roll is a real man. NOT polished/fake and sings about every man’s issue. I am glad SNL has introduced him to maybe a new segment of the public.”
Watching his life change almost overnight, Jelly Roll appears to be embracing the stardom that has surrounded his career.
