Etten’s soft, emotion-filled vocals reiterate the powerful pull she feels towards this special person. She longs for a time when they can escape the world together, fully immersed in each other’s warm presence.

Put on your best dress and get outta your head
Can we forget about everybody else?
What do you do when you got so much to lose?
Maybe tomorrow we’ll get away
And I’ll stay, close to you

“Close to You” is a cut from the upcoming Apple TV+ series The Buccaneers official soundtrack. The compilation was produced by Stella Mozgawa, longtime drummer of Australian indie-rock band Warpaint. Due out on November 8 via Interscope, the soundtrack also features tracks from LuciusGracie AbramsBully, and Danielle Ponder, among others.

“It was a truly incredible experience working with this group of uniquely talented artists,” Mozgawa shared in a statement. “Everyone brought their A-game and taught me something invaluable about the creative process. Witnessing these artists map each character’s journey through song was a joy, and the album feels like a really exciting companion to the show.”
