Steve Earle has reconfirmed that summer camp is not just for kids, it’s also for songwriters. Earle announced that this year’s installment of his annual “Camp Copperhead” songwriting workshop will take place at The Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY from June 27 – July 1.
The camp is a four-day event in which singers, songwriters, guitarists and poets venture to New York’s Catskill Mountains for master classes and workshops in songwriting, guitar, playing and singing. Earle will speak at a number of the workshops, and has also recruited a strong group of instructors for the camp that includes singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin.
“Steve’s Camp Copperhead promises to be a truly unique experience,” Colvin said in a press a release. “Steve and I are committed teachers, and there are bound to be a lot of laughs, too. Plus, The Full Moon Resort is the perfect place to enjoy all of it!”
