In no way, shape, or form has Shania Twain ever been considered a country music purist. Between songs such as “I’m Gonna Getcha Good” and “You’re Still The One,” Twain’s career is not pinned to one particular genre, and neither is her taste.

Given Twain’s colorful musical career and liking, she has influenced artists such as Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and Adele. However, very rarely has Twain admitted what musical artists she’s fond of. Until now, as Twain sat down with Taste of Country Nights ahead of hosting the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards to talk about a variety of topics. Though, the major soundbite of the interview is when she announced who her favorite current country artist is.
Shania Twain’s Favorite Artist Is…
When asked who her favorite artist was, she quickly responded with, “Shaboozey. His music and his videos just make me smile.” So, in addition to topping the Billboard Hot 100 for 11 weeks, Shaboozey now has one more accolade. Unwavering praise from one of country music’s finest.
Given that “One of the privileges that I have hosting the night, is this access that I have,” said Twain. She is going to make it her mission to thank Shaboozey “for exuding that kind of feel-good vibe,” Twain told Taste of Country Nights. Even though Twain didn’t delve into specifics about the country music rapper. It can be deduced she likes Shaboozey due to his ability to tear down genre walls just like her.
Like Twain, Shaboozey brought something new and refined to country music. Furthermore, he also helped bolster a sub-genre of country music that has been trying to get off the ground for quite some time. With all that in mind, it makes the utmost sense why Shaboozey received praise from Twain. Also, it makes total sense why he received nominations for several People Choice Country Awards and CMA Awards.
2024 People’s Choice Country Awards
Tune into NBC/Peacock this Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time to see Shania Twain host and Shaboozey possibly win. Other artists bound to be featured include Kacey Musgraves, Post Malone, Lainey Wilson, and so many others.
Nonetheless, after Twain’s comments, the much-anticipated event of the night will be the interaction between her and Nashville’s newest rapper, Shaboozey.
