Jason “Sundance” Head, The Voice Season 11 Winner, Took a Bullet by Accident

News of Sundance Head being shot on his Texas ranch broke on November 17. At the time his family and team didn’t have many details when they shared that he had taken a bullet to the stomach while hunting. “It missed all vital organs. It was not self-inflicted. We don’t know if it was an accident with his gun or if it was another hunter nearby,” they shared at the time. “The bullet is lodged in some fatty tissue, and the only way it could have happened is if it traveled through something else,” his agent added.

Later on, Head’s wife took to social media to share an update and more details about the shooting. She revealed that the bullet didn’t come from Head’s hunting rifle nor did it come from another hunter. Instead, the shot stemmed from an accident with a small caliber handgun.

“It was not his hunting rifle and nobody shot him. He was out of the vehicle reaching in to grab his .22. When he grabbed it, the .22 came out of its holster and hit the exterior of the Jeep just right and went off,” she wrote in the post.
