Watch Ella Langley Bring Out Surprise Guest to Perform “You Look Like You Love Me” in Oklahoma City—and It’s Not Riley Green

Ella Langley is currently on her Still Hungover Tour. Last Thursday (January 23), the trek took her to the Tower Theatre in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She treated the OKC crowd to tracks from her 2024 debut album Hungover including her No. 1 hit “You Look Like You Love Me.” However, her duet partner Riley Green wasn’t available to join her. Langley co-wrote “You Look Like You Love Me” with Green and Aaron Raitiere. She released it as the lead single from her debut album Hungover last summer. The song quickly caught on giving the Alabama native a crossover hit. It peaked at No. 30 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart. Additionally, it went to No. 1 and No. 7 on the Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts, respectively.

Ella Langley Wrote “You Look Like You Love Me” As a Joke

“You Look Like You Love Me” is a tongue-in-cheek bar song with a touch of sweetness. The bravado in the spoken-word verses has helped it capture the ears and hearts of countless listeners. However, Ella Langley never intended to release the track. She revealed the song’s origin during an interview with Bobby Bones last year.

“This song was never supposed to leave my audio recordings on my phone. I wrote it as a joke with Aaron Raitiere at first,” she revealed. “Then, the label heard it and loved it and Riley [Green] asked us on tour,” she added. Then, she explained how the joke song became a duet with Green.

“Him and I, just kind of being from the same area, growing up on the same kind of music, I was thinking maybe we could do it out on the road. That’s why I asked him to do it,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘Hey, just kind of write the second verse how you would respond to a girl coming up to you in the bar like that,’” she added.
