Watch: Foo Fighters Team Up with Michael Bublé to Surprise Audience

All tour long, the Foo Fighters have been highlighting their new drummer, Josh Freese, with a medley of his drumming credits—namely his contribution to Michael Bublé’s “Haven’t Met You Yet.” That blithe track is a far cry from the hard rock anthems he is now playing with the Foos.

On every tour stop, the band has carved out a section of their show for the track, bringing up an audience member to take on vocal duties. At a recent stop at the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco, the band tapped Bublé himself to help perform the song.

Playing into the joking nature of the cover, Bublé appeared in the audience acting as a super fan with an I Love Bublé sign.

“Hold on we’ve got a super fan,” Grohl said, acknowledging Bublé’s fake sign. “Alright, super fan come on down. This motherfucker better know the song.”

As soon as the crowd realized that the super fan was actually the singer himself, their reactions ramped up tenfold. Bublé made his way through the crowd, popped in his In-Ear Monitors, and joined the band on stage for his 2010 hit.

I’m not surprised, not everything lasts / I’ve broken my heart so many times I stopped keeping track / Talk myself in, I talk myself out / I get all worked up then I let myself down, Bublé sang in his honey-coated voice.

After the performance, Grohl heralded Bublé’s commitment to the bit saying, “So this bad-ass motherfucker, and I’m not even kidding, flew in today from Argentina just to fucking sing that song to you guys. There’s no such thing as taking a joke too far.”

“Haven’t Met You Yet” was released as part of Bublé’s album, Crazy Love. The track became a standout hit for the crooner, peaking at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart for three weeks.

The Foos’ current tour marks their first without Taylor Hawkins. The trek kicked off this Spring and will continue until next year. Their current setlist sees the band play through songs from the gamut of their career including “Learn To Fly,” “Best Of You,” and “Everlong.” Find their full setlist, HERE.
