It’s not even April, and we’ve already witnessed multiple heartwarming encounters between Keith Urban and his fans. Last month, the New Zealand-born crooner, 57, made two young concertgoers’ dreams come true when he invited them onstage during a Las Vegas show. More recently, Urban leapt from the stage at the Ryman Auditorium to embrace a fan who overcame cancer.
“I Beat Cancer To Hug Keith Urban”
Susan G. Komenยฎ hosted the inaugural Band As One Nashville: A Concert for the Cure on Wednesday (March 26) at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. Country stars like Keith Urban and headliner Trisha Yearwood took the stage to help raise funds for breast cancer patients and their loved ones.

As the footage made the rounds on social media, fans noted that the sweet moment wasn’t at all out of Urban’s character. “Literally the nicest guy in Nashville,” one Instagram user commented. “Real deal!”

Urban Recounts His “Surreal” Opry Experiences
Keith Urban joined the Grand Ole Opry’s ranks more than a decade ago. However, the “Days Go By” singer isn’t above feeling starstruck. During the Opry’s 100th anniversary special on March 19, he performed Crystal Gayle’s signature hit “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue” in front of the crossover star.
โItโs surreal and very intimidating playing โDonโt It Make [My] Brown Eyes Blueโ in front ofย Crystal Gayleย sitting on the front row,โ Urban said with a laugh. โI was trying not to look at her, but it was impossible.โ
And it was far from the first surreal Opry moment that the “Cop Car” singer has experienced. “The Opry is surreal anyway, ’cause all these artists I grew up playing their music and then theyโre there,” he said. “I remember the first time I metย Ricky Skaggsย sidestage, it was like meeting Santa Claus… It wasnโt a guy that looked like Ricky Skaggs. It was really Ricky Skaggs, and heโs just hanging sidestage, you know? Itโs a huge honor being invited into that family.โ
