Watch Vince Gill Join Carrie Underwood for Her “Single Greatest Live Performance of All Time”

While there are more than enough award shows centering around the music industry, the Academy of Country Music decided to host a tribute concert that focused on the contributions of female singers. Calling it the Girls Night Out Awards, the concert special honored numerous stars like Miranda Lambert, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, The Judds, and even Carrie Underwood. Thankful for the respect women receive from country music, Underwood once took the stage at the award show to perform “How Great Thou Art” alongside legendary country star Vince Gill.

Carrie Underwood Turned Her Love For Christian Music Into A Record

As for what fans had to say, comments included, “This is the single greatest Carrie Underwood live performance of all time.  Hands down.  The Holy Spirit was in the house that night!” Another fan on TikTok took this bold statement and went one step further, arguing it’s “THE BEST VOCAL PERFORMANCE BY ANY HUMAN EVER! no comparison.”

More fans chimed in, adding “When an audience of extremely talented people, stand up clapping before the song is finished, well, that’s something. This may be arguably the best vocal I’ve ever heard.” And one person added, “This performance truly gives me chills. Carrie’s voice is nothing short of true wonderment, paired with Vince Gill’s voice is angelic. This version truly reminds you how great thou art indeed. I listen to this version every now and then, when I am feeling down to feel the Holy Spirit within me.”

Having tackled Christian songs in the past, Underwood once explained her love for Christian music as she released the album My Savior. Discussing the 2021 album, the country singer told TODAY, “[A gospel album] is something that I’ve always wanted to do. I grew up on this music. It’s such a pillar of who I am as a person, but also as an artist.”

Outside of country music and performing with Vince Gill, Underwood continues to expand her stardom as fans can hear her kick off another season of Sunday Night Football.
