The Record Store Day folks have unveiled their list of special releases for the 2023 edition of their annual Black Friday celebration, which this year falls on November 24. As usual, a cornucopia of limited-edition vinyl titles will be sold exclusively at independent record shops the day after Thanksgiving throughout the U.S. and other countries.

Among the 175 releases that will be available are releases from Willie Nelson, Dierks Bentley, Post Malone, Joni Mitchell, and the Grateful Dead.
Nelson’s offering is a two-LP, 50th anniversary deluxe edition of his 1973 album Shotgun Willie, which included the country legend’s classic rendition of “Whiskey River.” The expanded release features an extra disc boasting outtakes and alternative tracks from the album sessions.
Malone’s RSD Black Friday release is a vinyl version of his hits compilation The Diamond Collection, which was issued digitally in April. The two-LP set is pressed on clear vinyl and the disc are housed in a custom jacket. The album includes such chart-toppers as “Rockstar” (featuring 21 Savage), “Psycho” (featuring Ty Dolla $ign), “Sunflower” (with Swae Lee), and “Circles.”
Bentley is issuing a 10th anniversary edition of his 2010 album Up on the Ridge, an acoustic collection that saw the country singer/songwriter teaming up with a variety of guest artists, including Alison Krauss, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert & Jamey Johnson, Vince Gill, and Kris Kristofferson. The special release is pressed on orange vinyl.
Mitchell is offering up an LP titled Court and Spark Demos, which features previously unheard demo versions of songs from her hit 1974 album Court and Spark.
The Grateful Dead’s Black Friday release is a five-LP set featuring the band’s entire March 2, 1969, performance at San Francisco’s famed Fillmore West venue. The concert was the last date of a four-show run at the Fillmore, performances from which made up the bulk of the band’s Live/Dead album.
Other 2023 Record Store Day Black Friday releases include discs from The Beach Boys, Jeff Beck, late KISS drummer Eric Carr, The Doors, Dr. Dre, Justin Townes Earle, Faces, The Flaming Lips, Jerry Garcia & David Grisman, Goo Goo Dolls, Gov’t Mule, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Jonas Brothers, Norah Jones, Noah Kahan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lil Wayne, Little Feat, Los Lobos, Aimee Mann, The Monkees, Motley Crue, Gram Parsons, Margo Price, Prince, Keith Richards, Leon Russell, Billy Strings, and Yungblud.
