3 of Liam Gallagher’s Harshest Comments About His Fellow Musicians

1. Billie Joe Armstrong

Billie Joe Armstrong is pretty vocal about his opinions himself. The Green Day frontman isn’t afraid to step on some toes–much like Gallagher. Nevertheless, the Oasis member once slighted the “American Idiot” singer. His comments weren’t exactly explained, leaving fans to wonder what prompted such a slap in the face.

“F**k right off,” Gallagher once said. “I’m not having him. I just don’t like his head.”

Don’t wanna be an American idiot
Don’t want a nation under the new media
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mindf**k America

2. George Harrison

Gallagher’s comments against George Harrison were said in self defense. The late Beatles member once took it upon himself to put down Gallagher’s vocals. He questioned his place in the band because of them.

“The music lacks depth, and the singer, Liam, shouts instead of sings,” Harrison once said. “The rest of the band don’t need him.”

Gallagher, in typical fashion, fired back a response at Harrison–one that was equally as cutting.

“George was always the quiet one, and maybe he should have stayed that way,” Gallagher said. “I love The Beatles, but what the f**k does he know about rock ‘n’ roll?”

I really want to see you
Really want to be with you
Really want to see you, Lord
But it takes so long, my Lord

3. Bob Dylan

You’d be hard pressed to find a musician who didn’t rate Bob Dylan as one of the best artists of all time. His brand of folk was transformative and endlessly influential. Gallagher, on the other hand, isn’t as taken with Dylan’s musicianship as others.

“I know all about him and that, but he’s a bit of a miserable c**t as far as I’m concerned,” Gallagher once said. “like that tune he did ‘Lay Lady Lay’. People go nuts for him, but he doesn’t really do it for me.”

I wish there was somethin’ you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
But we never did too much talking anyway
But don’t think twice, it’s all right
