81-Year-Old Rock Legend Mick Jagger Has Been Secretly Engaged for “Two or Three Years”

While known for helping form the iconic band the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger proved his talents went far beyond the group. Outside of the stardom of the Rolling Stones, the singer released albums like She’s the Boss, Wandering Spirit, and his last, Goddess in the Doorway, in 2001. Becoming one of the most influential men in rock music, Jagger was even knighted thanks to his contributions to music. And besides his life on stage, the singer apparently has been engaged to Melanie Hamrick for “two or three years” without anybody knowing.

Although some celebrities like to keep their personal lives a secret, Jagger watched a majority of his adult life play out in headlines. The newest bombshell didn’t come from the star, but his now fiancée Hamrick. Speaking to the French magazine Paris Match, she admitted, “We’ve been engaged for two or three years.”

With the couple taking their time with the engagement, Hamrick explained how they loved their current relationship. “Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything. We try to support each other, be there for each other, and make sure everyone is happy. That’s all that matters to me and all I strive for.”

When The Marriage Rumor Started Between Melanie Hamrick And Mick Jagger

Rumors first swirled both Jagger and Hamrick back in 2023 when the 37-year-old promoted her debut novel First Position. When speaking with the press, the writer was seen wearing a massive diamond ring. Questioned about the new jewelry, she considered it a promise ring. “I mean, I have to giggle because did Mick give me the ring? Yes. Is it for that finger? Yes. In my mind, it’s a promise ring. We’ll be immature and call it a promise ring.”

Having dated for over a decade, Jagger and Hamrick first met back in 2014. Falling in love, the couple welcomed their son Deveraux just two years later. Although the singer has seven other children, he only married once to Bianca Jagger during the 1970s. Their marriage ended in 1978.
