Dan Cleary, who was working as the guitar tech for Jane’s Addiction last month during the infamous on-stage fight between Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro, has released the isolated microphone track from the not-so-pleasant performance.

Cleary has been the band’s guitar tech for north of 17 years and shared the footage and audio on his YouTube channel. Cleary also claimed via his narration of the audio that Farrell allegedly punched Navarro straight in the face after the on-stage altercation once the two were backstage.
In the footage and audio, you can hear Farrell strain his voice at a particular point in the song. Farrell becomes visibly frustrated before shouting “F*ck these motherf*ckers, f*ck them, f*ck them, f*ck him.”
The “him” in question was likely Navarro, who took the brunt of Farrell’s rage during the on-stage spat. After that particular audio clip, Farrell can be seen shoving Navarro before the set suddenly ends.

It’s still not abundantly clear what caused Farrell to snap on stage on September 13. However, the aftermath has not been great for the band. Jane’s Addiction canceled all of their remaining tour dates and also confirmed that they would be going on hiatus, putting the blame on Farrell’s “mental health difficulties”.
Fans have been blowing up the band’s social media comment sections with speculations from interpersonal issues to chronic technical problems on the tour. Farrell has since issued an apology.
“After having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologise to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show,” said Farrell via a rep-issued statement provided to Variety shortly after the incident.
Farrell also took “full accountability” for how he handled the situation. His wife, Etty Lau, jumped in to defend her husband and noted that he was suffering from severe tinnitus and a sore throat during the recent tour, and was also dealing with stage volume issues that left him frustrated over being “drowned out” by the rest of the band. She has since claimed that Farrell is seeking treatment from an otolaryngologist and a neurologist.
