Bon Jovi’s massively successful 1986 album Slippery When Wet will be reissued in multiple formats and configurations on February 28. The chart-topping, hit-packed album will be released in a number of vinyl variants, while a deluxe version will be made available as a two-CD set and via digital formats.

Slippery When Wet, Bon Jovi’s third album, was released in August 1986. It spent eight nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 1986 and ’87. Slippery When Wet yielded three major hits singles. “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer” both topped the Billboard Hot 100, while “Wanted Dead or Alive” peaked at No. 7 on the chart.
Slippery When Wet has gone on to be certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of more than 10 million copies in the U.S. The album actually has been certified 15-times platinum for equivalent sales surpassing 15 million.
Bon Jovi’s official store is selling two limited-edition vinyl versions of the original 10-track album. The first is a unique, liquid-filled LP that’s limited to 1,300 copies worldwide. The second is a picture disc that limited to 1,500 copies. A limited-edition cassette version of Slippery When Wet also can be purchased at Bon Jovi’s online store. Only 500 copies of the cassette are available.
About the Slippery When Wet Deluxe Edition’s Bonus Tracks
The deluxe CD and digital editions of Slippery When Wet feature seven bonus tracks. Among them is a highly prized acoustic rendition of “Wanted Dead or Alive.”
The bonus recordings also include four live performances from Bon Jovi’s 1987 tour in support of Slippery When Wet Tour. Two of those performances, versions of “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Let It Rock,” are previously unreleased.
Rounding out the bonus tracks are previously unreleased mixes of “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Raise Your Hands.” The mix of “Livin’ on a Prayer” was heard briefly in the band’s 2024 Hulu documentary, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.

In January 2024, Bon Jovi released an expanded digital version of its 1984 self-titled debut album in honor of its 40th anniversary. A ruby-colored vinyl LP version and a deluxe digital edition of the Bon Jovi album will be released on January 10. A deluxe two-CD version of Bon Jovi is due out on February 28.
June 2024 saw the release of Bon Jovi’s latest studio album, Forever, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
In July 2024, “Livin’ on a Prayer” became Bon Jovi’s first single to be certified Diamond by the RIAA for equivalent sales of more than 10 million in the U.S.
