Now, in a new interview, frontman Jon Bon Jovi has revealed that a new version of Forever is being prepared that will feature duet renditions of every song on the record. During a recent conversation with Sound on Sound magazine, as shared by Blabbermouth.net, the singer explained that since he’s still not ready to tour following vocal surgery, the new version of Forever will give fans the chance to rediscover the album as he recuperates.

“This is an album that we’re very proud of, and I think it’s the best Bon Jovi record since Lost Highway (2007) or at least Have a Nice Day (2005),” Jon noted. “We love every song on it and it was a joy to make this album, but I just wasn’t ready to go and book shows post-surgery recovery.”

He continued, “So, I reached out to a number of friends and I said, ‘If you guys would sing a verse here and there, it’ll give this great album another life.’”

Bon Jovi added that one of his main focuses is the release of the duets version of Forever. Another, he said, is, “God willing, getting back out on the road and running that project through its life.”

No release date or list of duet partners has yet been confirmed for the album.

About Bon Jovi’s 2024 Duet with The War and Treaty

Bon Jovi fans likely got their first taste of the duets project in August 2024. That month, the band released a collaborative version of the uplifting, politically charged Forever track “The People’s House” featuring husband-and-wife country/gospel duo The War and Treaty.

The War and Treaty’s Tanya Trotter talked with American Songwriter about the collaboration in September 2024.

“It’s a song that [Jon] picked,” she noted. “I think it’s timely. When you are a rock star like that, there are just songs that transcend time. So to add us onto this song, because it’s been done before, that’s very special and timely for the time we are living in right now.”

Bon Jovi’s Other Recent Duets

Bon Jovi also recently teamed up with rapper Pitbull for a remix of the band’s 2000 hit “It’s My Life.” The track, retitled “Now or Never,” was released in November 2024. In January 2025, tune debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart.

In addition, Jon contributed vocals to a new version of the Christmas classic “Run Rudolph Run” that was featured on the A Philly Special Christmas Special benefit album. The project is the latest in a series of holiday benefit albums by The Philly Specials. The group is a vocal trio consisting of former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce and current Eagles offensive linemen Lane Johnson, and Jordan Mailata.
