Todd Rundgren Announces 2025 U.S. Summer Trek, the Still Me (Still We) Tour

Todd Rundgren currently is taking part in a tribute tour called “What the World Needs Now: The Burt Bacharach Songbook Live in Concert,” but he’ll soon be turning his attention back to his own music. The lauded and prolific singer/songwriter has just announced a U.S. summer headlining trek dubbed the Still Me (Still We) Tour.

The outing features 21 confirmed dates on the East Coast and in the Midwest. It runs from a June 21 concert in Cranston, Rhode Island, through a July 27 show in Orlando, Florida. The tour includes a two-date engagement, July 5-6, in Woodstock, New York.

Tickets for the concerts will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, April 16, at 10 a.m. local time. Pre-sale tickets are available now.

A press release about the Still Me (Still We) Tour explained that it will be an extension of the latter part of Rundgren’s 2024 trek, which was dubbed the Me/We Tour.

“The show is kind of a story with a message,” Todd said in a statement. “Even though a year has passed I still think the story needs to be told.”

Accompanying Rundgren on the 2025 tour will be bassist Kasim Sulton, drummer Prairie Prince, keyboardist Gil Assayas, guitarist Bruce McDaniel, and horn player Bobby Strickland.

More About the Upcoming Tour

In recent interview with American Songwriter, Todd discussed his plans for the new trek.

“I did a tour last year that was kind of deep cuts, some of the familiar stuff, but a lot of deep cuts that I knew the audience would enjoy and that we enjoy playing,” he explained. “So, it’ll be a continuation of that, because I haven’t had time to get another record out. Usually if I get a record out, I’ll build a show around it, but I don’t have one right now.”

Rundgren’s most recent studio album was Space Force, which was released in 2022. It featured collaborations with an eclectic variety of artists, including Adrian Belew, Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, Crowded House’s Neil Finn, The Roots, Sparks, Thomas Dolby, Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, and Steve Vai.

About the “What the World Needs Now” Tour

There are six dates left on “What the World Needs Now” Tour, which winds down April 23 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The trek, which began March 22 in Ventura, California, continues tonight, April 15, in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Original Stylistics lead singer Russell Thompkins Jr. will be a guest performer at the show.

As previously reported, Rundgren has been the featured main lead singer throughout the tour. Several other vocalists also perform at each show, including Wendy Moten, runner-up of the 2021 season of The Voice. More than 30 Bacharach compositions are featured in every concert.

The “What the World Needs Now” shows are being overseen by former Bacharach music director and arranger Rob Shirakbari. Shirakbari leads a nine-piece ensemble featuring musicians who previously have worked with Brian Wilson, Aretha Franklin, Adele, Stevie Wonder, and Elvis Costello, as well as Rundgren.

The musicians taking part in the trek include Sulton and longtime Wilson touring band member Probyn Gregory.
