Stone Temple Pilot Drummer Eric Kretz Drops Off The Joe Perry Project’s 2025 Tour

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is about to hit the road with the latest incarnation of his side band The Joe Perry Project, but there’s been a last-minute change to the group’s star-studded lineup. The band was to have featured Stone Temple Pilots drummer Eric Kretz, but Perry has announced that Kretz won’t be able to take part in the tour, which kicks off Wednesday, August 13, in Tampa, Florida.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer posted a message on his social media pages that reads, “Unfortunately, due to a family emergency Eric Kretz will be unable to participate in the upcoming Joe Perry Project tour dates. Longtime JPP drummer Jason Sutter will join the band for the immediate future and Eric looks forward to rejoining the tour as soon as he is able.”

As previously reported, The Joe Perry Project’s current lineup also features Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford, Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson, Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo, and Aerosmith touring keyboardist Buck Johnson.
