The One Song Offered To Bonnie Tyler Before Celine Dion

Although noting that Tyler was in recovery, fans continue to wait to hear from the singer herself. But for now, her team assured fans that she is recovering well and focusing on getting back to full health.

Tyler’s emergency comes just weeks before the hitmaker turns 75 on June 8. With her birthday right around the corner, the singer will surely take a moment to look back at her career. And speaking of her career, Tyler always praised her working relationship with Jim Steinman.

A famed composer, songwriter, and producer, Steinman helped create iconic songs like” Holding Out for a Hero,” “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),” “Bat Out of Hell,” and “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.” But according to Tyler, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” was offered to her even before Celine Dion.

“Jim Steinman wrote the most iconic songs for me, for Meat Loaf or Celine Dion. In fact, [‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’] was offered to me before Celine Dion. When I first heard it, I thought, ‘Oh my God, this song is amazing.’You know, I couldn’t believe he was giving it to me.”

While her career went far beyond the hit song, she never forgot the impact it had on the world. “I still get excited when I hear the song on the radio. Every time the eclipse comes, everyone all over the world, they play ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ and I never get tired of singing it.”
