Adam Levine Swaps Memories With Fellow OG Coach
Ahead of the Feb. 3 season premiere, The Voice recently shared a video of senior coaches Adam Levine and John Legend discussing the good ol’ days.
“I did miss the chair,” said the “One More Night” singer. “It’s a unique and singular experience, and it can’t really be replicated in any other aspect.”
Legend then goes on to point out that Levine is actually returning to a different chair, as the “Ordinary People” singer now occupies his old one. Levine replies, “That doesn’t feel as weird as you think it would, because I’m on the other end.”
However, several eagle-eyed viewers pointed out that Levine’s chair once belonged to his best frenemy. “Adam being where Blake once was is absolutely DIABOLICAL in the funniest way possible,” one YouTube user remarked. “I love it.”

Fans agreed that the placement was likely intentional. Many could barely contain their excitement at seeing the pop star return for his 17th season, although others admitted that it was strange seeing Levine there without Shelton. “I’m going to miss their bickering and their brotherly chemistry on this show!” one YouTube user wrote.
Another added, “i got a feeling we about to witness the birth of a new bromance with michael and adam lol.”
When Is ‘The Voice’ Back?
The Voice viewers are ecstatic to see fan favorite Adam Levine return after a 10-season absence. Levine last competed in season 16—coincidentally, John Legend’s only winning season to date.
Country-pop star Kelsea Ballerini makes her coaching debut on The Voice when season 27 premieres Monday, Feb. 3, at 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC. The “Dibs” singer will have her worth cut out for her as she faces three former winners. Levine is seeking his fourth victory, and defending champ Michael Bublé is fresh off a win with Sofronio Vasquez in his rookie season.
