LoIt’s a shocking and sad day for fans of the “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” hitmakers. Aerosmith has just announced today via their website and social media pages that they are officially retiring from performing and will be canceling their upcoming highly-anticipated Peace Out Tour.

The news comes as a huge shock to fans of Aerosmith around the world who were anticipating their upcoming tour, which was touted as their official final tour before the band planned on calling it quits.
In the announcement, the band noted that they appreciate their fans for supporting them for over five decades and helping them make “rock ‘n’ roll history”. The post went on to say that Steven Tyler’s recent vocal injury was a lot worse than initially expected.
The powerhouse singer has been “tirelessly working” of getting his voice up to par since the injury, but it’s clear that a full recovery is no longer possible. Because of this, Aerosmith will officially be retiring from touring and performing live. They will also have no choice but to cancel the upcoming tour.
“We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time,” the announcement reads. “Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who’ve made our historic runs possible. A final thank you to you – the best fans on planet Earth.”
The post noted that fans who bought tickets via Ticketmaster will automatically receive a refund and no further action will be required. Those who bought tickets elsewhere (such as Stubhub or Viagogo) will need to contact those platforms to start the refunding process.
Fans Mourn The Sudden End of Aerosmith
Since the band made their announcement, fans have been quick to voice their disappointment and shock over the sudden retirement of one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
“We love you guys!” said one fan in the comments of Aerosmith’s retiring announcement on Instagram. “Thank you so much for 50 years of some of the best rock ‘n’ roll ever written and recorded. We will miss you out on the dusty road.”

“My first Aerosmith tour was going to be their last…and now I don’t even get that,” said another disappointed fan. “RIP.”
