The singer noted that he was perfectly fine (at least physically) after having an undisclosed amount of money stolen from him. However, the nature of the attack had him shaken up. Allen did not explicitly say when the attack occurred or where exactly it happened.
“Even with having a muscular stature and being covered in tattoos, it didn’t matter…” said Allen in the post’s caption, accompanied by a series of photos and video footage of Allen at a shooting range. “He had a gun, and I didn’t. I felt helpless, taken advantage of, and mad at myself more than anything.”
Allen went on to say that he has “always been on the fence” about gun ownership. However, the robbery prompted him to purchase a firearm “strictly for self-defense.” He also took the time to thank a friend of his for training him on how to safely operate a firearm.
“I will NEVER feel that way again,” said Allen in the post.
