The route will follow the Bray seafront and is scheduled to begin at the Harbor Bar end of Strand Road and will be followed by a private burial. “The Gardai have asked that people gather, if they would like to say a last goodbye to the singer, from 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday along the Bray seafront,” read a statement released on behalf of O’Connor’s family on Sunday (August 6).

“Sinéad loved living in Bray and the people in it,” continued the statement. “With this procession, her family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love for her from the people of Co. Wicklow and beyond, since she left last week to go to another place.”

Nearly two weeks after O’Connor’s death on Wednesday (July 26), fans continue to pay tribute to the singer and songwriter by leaving messages and flowers at her former home in Bray. A 30-foot installation honoring the late artist also recently appeared on a hillside overlooking the town of Bray, reading “ÉIRE SINÉAD” with a heart symbol in between. “Eire” is the Irish word for Ireland.
