While aboard The World Voyager, a 100-cabin yacht that features high-end technology, Diplo will treat passengers to live performances, DJ sets and an exclusive Q&A. The Los Angeles-based Secular Sabbath will also provide sound baths, breathwork activities, yoga and more. The boat will depart from Punta Arenas, Chile, and make the nearly 900-mile journey to the remote continent.

The cruise is presented in partnership with Ocean Conservancy and Insider Expeditions in an effort to raise money for the former organization. Ocean Conservancy is a nonprofit that creates, “evidence-based solutions for a healthy ocean and the wildlife and communities that depend on it,” according to the website. “Their primary focus is on promoting the well-being of ocean ecosystems, combatting marine pollution, addressing climate change and actively advocating against practices that jeopardize the lives of both marine and human communities,” according to a press release.

“When Insider Expeditions explained this would be an opportunity to partner with Ocean Conservancy to raise funding and awareness for ocean conservation and environmental advocacy, I knew I had to say yes,” Diplo said of the endeavor in a press release, referring to Antarctica as a “bucket list” destination.

Diplo is known for his experimental collaborations that have landed him at the top of the charts. Among the hits he’s been involved with as a producer are M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes,” “Elastic Heart” by Sia and The Weeknd and “Hold Up” by Beyonce. As an artist, he’s released four albums, including the collaborative Chapter 2: Swamp Savant in 2023 which was a reissue of Chapter 1: Snake Oil in 2020.

“I didn’t really know what I was doing,” Diplo told American Songwriter about the two aforementioned albums that featured collaborations with artists ranging from country star Thomas Rhett to Jonas Brothers. “But I know that this [country] is a genre that could really do without my help. I was writing all these records in dance or pop, but I was also going more into country, and writing country songs, so this was a great way to release it.”
