The pic features a closeup image of White as The Boss, wearing a denim jacket over a plaid flannel shirt. The photo is accompanied by a message that reads, simply, “Jeremy Allen White is Bruce Springsteen in #DeliverMeFromNowhere. Coming to theaters in 2025.”

White’s involvement in the movie was first reported by Variety in March 2024. Deliver Me from Nowhere is based on musician-turned-author Warren Zanes’ 2023 non-fiction novel of the same name. The movie will tell the story of the making of Springsteen’s acclaimed, stripped down 1982 acoustic album, Nebraska.

According to new photos posted on Getty Images, production on the movie got underway on October 28 in Montclair, New Jersey.

In September, People reported that White expressed excitement about the impending start of filming of the project.

“We’re going to start it pretty soon,” he revealed. White also noted that he had a “really beautiful team of people helping” him, and also was receiving some guidance from Springsteen himself.

“Bruce has been really lovely and supportive and available,” he explained. “[It’s] has made this whole process I think such an extra joy that we have his support and [that of his manager] Jon Landau … who has a large role in the film, as well. So I feel really lucky.”

Jeremy Strong Also Will Appear in the Film

Another Emmy-winning actor, Jeremy Strong, also recently confirmed that he’ll be appearing in Deliver Me from Nowhere.

In an October 2024 interview with NME, Strong, best known for his award-winning portrayal of Kendall Roy in HBO’s Succession, reveled that he was part of the cast of the Springsteen biopic.

“[The Nebraska album] just always spoke to me, there’s a melancholy to it,” Strong said. “I am doing [Deliver Me from Nowhere] but I’d always felt that way about that album. There’s a narrative to it that comes from a very deep place in him and you can feel that.”

Meanwhile, Landau confirmed in a recent interview with The Telegraph that Strong will be portraying him in the movie. Springsteen’s manager also noted that he recommended that Strong not take his penchant for method acting to an extreme when preparing for the role.

“I did tell him that he didn’t, in terms of his weight, need to go the full Raging Bull on the character development,” he said with a laugh.

Springsteen, playfully ribbing Landau, added jokingly, “They tried to get [Strong] in the fat suit.”

Landau and Springsteen on White Portraying Bruce

In the same Telegraph interview, Landau reflected on White’s portrayal of Springsteen.

He noted that taking on the role would offer White the challenge of “depicting a very interior person.” Jon added, “There’s always a tremendous amount going on, some of which gets articulated, and some of which is held back.”

As for Springsteen, he said he’s confident White will do a stellar job.

“I only had to see him on The Bear, and I knew he was the right guy,” he said, “because he had that interior life, but he also had a little swagger.”
