Is a New Foo Fighters Album on the Way?

Is there a new Foo Fighters album coming next month?

Videos by American Songwriter

That’s been the question since U.K. radio DJ Chris Moyles, a host for Radio X, mentioned he was “very much looking forward” to the album coming in March. Moyles shared the news after he played “Walk” from the Foo Fighters’ 2011 album, Wasting Light.

He didn’t give any more details and quickly turned his thoughts to Harry Styles. But the mention was picked up by the U.K. Foo Fighters fan page, which posted the clip on Twitter.

If he is right, the new LP could be a studio album—the last, perhaps, with fallen band member Taylor Hawkins, who died in March 2022 while the band was on tour in Colombia. Or it could possibly be a live album from the recent tribute shows honoring Hawkins.

Foo Fighters last released a studio album in 2021, Medicine at Midnight.

As for other Foo Fighters news, the band has announced several upcoming headlining festival gigs, including the 2023 Fuji Rock Fest, Boston Calling Fest and Bonaroo.

At the end of last year, the band penned a fan message about the group’s “most difficult and tragic year.”

“Foo Fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life and for the past 27 years, our fans have built a worldwide community, a devoted support system that has helped us all get through the darkest of times together, the letter read. “A place to share our joy and our pain, our hopes and fears, and to join in a chorus of life together through music. Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were—and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward.”
