For starters, there is a new episode airing tonight. With kids sifting through their Halloween candy, former SNL writer John Mulaney prepared to head back to Studio 8H. His return to the show marked his sixth appearance on SNL. The last time Mulaney took over hosting duties in 2022, he celebrated his entrance into the famed Five-Timers Club. With Mulaney knowing his way around the studio, the actor and writer is sure to bring the laughs back to SNL. Chappell Roan Struggles With Depression Before ‘Saturday Night Live’ Debut
Taking over headlines and the airwaves, Roan’s career appeared to explode overnight. With songs like “Hot To Go!”, the singer opened up about the shock of becoming famous practically overnight. While loving her career in the spotlight and what she produced in the studio, she explained the “predatory” behavior she receives from fans.
Continuing to share her music and perform on stage, Roan revealed she suffered from “severe depression. “I’m in therapy twice a week. I went to a psychiatrist last week because I was like, I don’t know what’s going on. She diagnosed me with severe depression – which I didn’t think I had because I’m not actually sad.”
Using therapy to explore the depression, Roan placed the blame on her rising fame. “I think it’s because my whole life has changed. Everything that I really love to do now comes with baggage. If I want to go thrifting, I have to book security and prepare myself that this is not going to be normal.”
Continuing to navigate her life in the spotlight, don’t miss Roan and Mulaney on ‘Saturday Night Live’, airing tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
