With The Voice charging through each week, fans can rejoice as the season will continue tonight with a new episode. But again, the final battle round will take place during tonight’s episode. For coaches John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, and Adam Levine, tonight will mark the last time they send two singers up to fight for a chance to continue. But for those who ended up losing the battle, they can still continue if a coach decides to save or steal them. With stardom on for grabs, tonight’s episode is sure to bring more than powerful performances.

Knowing the pressure put on the contestants, Ballerini looked back at her own career when speaking with Willie Geist on TODAY. While she found herself offering advice to aspiring artists, she once recalled asking career tips from Taylor Swift. “I remember I asked her, I was like, ‘You know, I’m a girl on an independent label. So this is proving to be a little difficult for me. She was like, ‘You have to become undeniable. Whatever that means to you, whatever that looks like for you.”

Kelsea Ballerini Cared More About Performing Than Awards

Using that advice, Ballerini let her passion and talent dictate the direction of her career, which led her to The Voice. Excited to help others achieve their dreams, the singer also pointed to how performing was somewhat better than winning awards.

Loving nothing more than sharing her talents with fans, she remembered the pain that came with losing an award. “There are certain things that used to really make me cry myself to sleep. One is when people said I wasn’t country. And two is losing awards. Now I’ve changed my relationship with all of it … If you get nominated, that means that sometimes, if you’re lucky, you get three-and-a-half minutes to sing on a show like the CMAs or the ACMs or the CMTs, you know? And that’s an award … I’m good with it.”

Don’t miss a new episode of The Voice, airing tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and available to stream on Peacock.
