Jelly Roll, Billy Idol, and Maynard James Keenan, Join Forces in Star-Studded Tribute Honoring Ozzy Osbourne

While the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony honored singers like Big Mama Thorton, Dionne Warwick, Jimmy Buffett, and Cher, few moments compared to when Ozzy Osbourne entered the Hall of Fame for a second time. Marking his entry as a solo artist, the Rock Hall decided to celebrate the occasion with a performance that featured Billy Idol and Maynard James Keenan from Tool. And showing just how far he has climbed in the music industry over the last few years, country star Jelly Roll was more than excited to take part in the celebration of the Prince of Darkness.

Having gained entry into the Hall of Fame thanks to his time with Black Sabbath, Osbourne received a special treat when the stage filled with stars including Keenan, Idol, Jelly Roll, Steve Stevens, Robert Trujillo, Adam Wakeman, and even Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. While all coming from different genres of music, the artists all shared a love for Osbourne and the legacy he created in the music industry. Thankfully, the tribute performance made its way online.

Ozzy Osbourne Showers Billy Idol And Jelly Roll With Praise

Before walking down the red carpet, Osbourne opened up about his second induction and how the Rock Hall picked so many talented stars to honor him. Discussing his thoughts on Idol, he said, “Billy Idol is a rock icon. His music is timeless. Billy Idol should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.” As for Maynard, Osbourne added, “Maynard has been a true family friend since 1997. He is such a creative force. There are few artists who can keep three successful bands going for multiple decades.”

Although Jelly Roll is somewhat of a new face in the music industry, apparently, Osbourne knew about him even before the performance. Praising the country singer, the Prince of Darkness insisted, “Who doesn’t love Jelly Roll? His voice is soulful, pure, and dirty. I’m so honored that someone would do this for me who I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting.”
