Earlier today (November 9), Wilson took to social media to celebrate the big night with her fans and followers. “The ride just keeps getting wilder,” she wrote. “Country music has wrapped its arms around me in ways I could’ve never imagined,” she added.

“This is the dream, y’all,” the newly-crowned Entertainer of the Year continued. However, she’s not taking the credit for her success. “This feels so divinely lead. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you,” she concluded.

It has indeed been a wild ride for the Louisiana native. Two years ago, she was over the moon to be a presenter at the 2021 CMA Awards. Last year, she was the most-nominated artist of the night with six nods. She went into last night’s awards as the most-nominated artist for the second year in a row.

Wilson took home New Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year at her first CMA Awards. She also took home the Female Vocalist trophy last night.

However, it has not been a short ride for Wilson. She revealed how long she’s been working toward her current success during her Entertainer of the Year Award acceptance speech. “I’ve been in this town 12 and a half years, and it finally feels like country music is starting to love me back,” she said through tears.

Furthermore, she was knee-deep in country music long before moving to Nashville. During the same speech, Wilson mentioned that the number nine has been a prominent number in her life. It wasn’t just the number of nominations she had last night. “It’s also the year that I wrote my first song,” she revealed.
