CMA Fest: 50 Years of Fan Fair is expected to arrive July 5, 2023, just weeks after the annual event takes place from downtown Nashville, Tennessee, on June 8 – 11.
The documentary will transport country music enthusiasts back to the ’70s when the festival first began. Viewers will witness the concert’s growth – as more than 5,000 fans attended the fest at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium before moving to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.
Today, 20 times more fans attend the festival per day and travel across state borders to experience the event. In 2001, the festival moved downtown, utilizing countless venues in Music City.
“CMA Fest has taken several shapes throughout its storied history,” said CMA Chief Executive Officer Sarah Trahern in a press release. “As we step into our 50th year, our hope with this film is to underscore the one thing that has remained with the festival – its heart. We are thrilled to share the evolution and magic of this incredible event with the Hulu audience.”
The in-depth biopic will not just display the festival’s rich history but will also include exclusive interviews and performances.
Bill Anderson, Dierks Bentley, Kelsea Ballerini, BRELAND, Brooks & Dunn, Brothers Osborne, Luke Bryan, Shy Carter, Luke Combs, Valerie Ellis Hawkins, Vince Gill, Wynonna Judd will make an appearance throughout CMA Fest: 50 Years of Fan Fair. Patty Loveless, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Mark Miller, Craig Morgan, Lorrie Morgan, Dolly Parton, Jeannie Seely, Carly Pearce, Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood, Frankie Staton, Carly Pearce, Keith Urban, Trisha Yearwood, and Chris Young will also be featured throughout the film.
CMA Fest is the largest and longest-running country music festival in the world. This year, countless musicians will perform across multiple stages in Nashville. In addition to performances at Nissan Stadium, festival-goers can attend Fan Fair X inside the Music City Center for “up-close-and-personal moments” with their favorite musicians. A portion of ticket proceeds will go towards high-quality music education programs nationwide through the CMA Foundation.
