Ms. Lauryn Hill Postpones Philadelphia Concert on Doctor’s Orders, Removes St. Louis Show from Tour

Ms. Lauryn Hill hit the road in September to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Now, after more than a month on the road, the singer has postponed tonight’s (Oct 23) show in Philadelphia.

Hill took to social media last night to share the news with her fans and followers. “It is with disappointment that I am writing this note to you,” the post began. “On the advice of my physicians, I have no choice but to postpone the show tomorrow,” Hill added. Then, she stated that she needs vocal rest to prevent more “serious strain or damage” to her vocal cords.

According to the post, fans in Philadelphia won’t have to wait long. The show will now take place on November 25. However, Hill was originally slated to be in St. Louis, Missouri that day. Earlier today, her website updated to reflect the rescheduled Philadelphia show. At this time, there is no new date for the St. Louis show.

Fortunately, it appears that Hill will only have to postpone one show on the tour.  “Toronto, I’ll see you next. Resting for a few days then heading your way,” she said in the post. Her Toronto show is scheduled for October 26.

“The start of this tour has been incredible,” Hill wrote in the post. “What an amazing experience to celebrate this anniversary with all of my family, my friends, and all of you.”

The tour sees Hill reuniting with the Fugees for several performances. Pras Michel spoke about the reunion in a press release before the tour began. “Reuniting with Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean for the Miseducation Tour is a full circle moment,” he said. “Lauren’s profound lyricism and mastery of hip-hop, reggae, and soul created an undeniable masterpiece with The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” Michel added.

Tickets for the remainder of the tour are available on StubHub.
