NFL Teases Beyoncé NFL Christmas Game Halftime Show With Special Guests

While families gather together on Christmas day to open gifts, eat great food, and spend time together, the NFL prepared to host two exciting games. On Christmas Day, the Kansas City Chiefs look to expand their dominance over the NFL as they will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After the thrilling matchup, the Baltimore Ravens will take on the Houston Texans. Although fans are ready to cheer on their favorite team, it seems the Texans will welcome Beyoncé to the field for a spectacular halftime performance.

Scheduled to start at 4:30 ET/PT on Netflix, the Texans and Ravens are sure to produce a memorable game. But when it comes to halftime, all eyes will be on Beyoncé as she hoped to perform a few songs from her debut country album Cowboy Carter. Making her entrance into country music back in March, the singer received praise from fans for songs like “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.”

Not giving away too many details surrounding the performance, which will feature not only Beyoncé but also special guests, NFL executive vice president of media, Hans Schroeder, praised both Beyoncé and Netflix. “To Netflix’s credit, they sort of wanted to really see if there is a way to further lift and build this idea that it’s really a first time of a global large sport event that’s distributed globally by a single entity at this level and magnitude.”

NFL Excited To Welcome Beyoncé To The Field

As for Schroeder’s thoughts on Beyoncé, the executive added, “I think they were thinking about how to make it even bigger and certainly adding a star of Beyoncé’s level to the day—on top of what they’re doing with some really cool openings to celebrate the holiday…. Beyonce just is a way that they thought—and we certainly agreed—that they could further build and make it a really special day.”

With Netflix streaming the event, the games are expected to be watched in over 190 countries. As for Beyoncé, it marked more than a performance as it will be a homecoming for the singer. Raised in Houston, Schroeder promised, “We think that it will be a nice additional element in that second game of how it really feels special for our fans. It’s her hometown and she’s so excited…to be part of Christmas Day on the NFL in Houston.” I think was just a great confluence of the circumstances.” ” He insisted, “You can anticipate a heck of a show.”
