Backstage during a stop in Buenos Aires, Argentina, McCartney took the time to answer a few questions about the current tour.
Among the queries Sir Paul fielded was which songs he was enjoying playing most on the trek.
“I like ‘Come On to Me,’” McCartney shared, referring to a tune from his 2018 studio album, Egypt Station. “That’s always good fun.”
In addition, the 82-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer named one the most famous tunes he wrote for The Beatles.
“I also like ‘Hey Jude’ because everyone in the crowd seems to be singing it,” McCartney said, “so it brings everyone together in the spirit of peace and love.” He added, “Ringo [Starr] would be happy with that response!”
With the Latin American shows being his first concerts of 2024, McCartney also was asked if he was enjoying being on tour again.
“Yes!” he said. “It’s always exciting, mainly because of the fans … Latin American audiences are super cool.”
McCartney Commented on Taking Part in Meet-and-Greets
McCartney took part in some meet-and-greet events with contest winners during this leg of the tour. He shared how he feels about getting to personally interact with some of his avid fans.
“It’s great because they are always super pleased to see me, and they each have an interesting story,” he explained. “For example, one guy … told me he just got married, and another fan mentioned she is getting married to someone she met at my show soon which is so lovely to hear. I love hearing the little personal anecdotes that get thrown in.”
A montage video has been posted on Paul’s Instagram page showing clips of McCartney mingling with various fans during recent meet-and-greets. The video also features photos and videos that fans sent McCartney expressing their love for him and his music.
