Shakira was recently previewing her newest single, “Soltera,” at a club in Miami when she abruptly left the stage after catching a fan filming her inappropriately. She was dancing on stage while filming a music video at LIV Miami with Winnie Harlow, Anitta, Lele Pons, and Danna. A fan-captured video shows Shakira supposedly catching another fan filming up her skirt. She then left the stage.

She was performing her signature hip-shaking moves when she quickly turned around and tugged her dress down, wagging her fingers at the crowd behind her. Shakira also pointed to her eye as if to say “I see you.” Shakira continued dancing for a moment, before tugging at the hem of her dress again. She then made a “cut it” motion with her hand and left the stage.
Shakira has not made any comment on the incident. People in the replies to the video left comments in varying controversial degrees, shaming Shakira for her dancing, the length of her dress, or the fact that she’s in the public eye and should “expect” behavior like that. Twitter users also compared her previous music videos, noting that she has worn less clothing before. However, there’s a big difference between consenting to be filmed in a bikini for a music video, and catching someone filming an upskirt video.

Shakira Announces 2024 World Tour, Though No Release Date on New Single Yet
Shakira is gearing up to release the new single, “Soltera,” but hasn’t yet announced the release date. This will be her first new music since her recent studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, which dropped in March. Additionally, Shakira announced a 2024 World Tour back in April, which will kick off on November 2 in Palm Desert, California. The U.S. and Canadian leg of the tour will conclude on December 15 in Detroit, Michigan. During that time, she’ll hit cities like Los Angeles, Dallas and San Antonio, Miami, D.C., Toronto and Montreal, Brooklyn, Boston, and more.
The rest of the tour dates have not yet been announced, but tickets for the U.S./Canada stretch went on sale in April. Last-minute fans should check out StubHub to see if there are any tickets left, and keep an eye out on Shakira’s social media and website for the international tour dates.
