A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Randy Travis Foundation, a nonprofit that provides, “Support for victims of strokes and cardiovascular diseases as well as arts and entertainment education for at-risk children.” Travis suffered a debilitating stroke in 2013 at the age of 54 that limited his speech and ability to walk. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016.

Travis was also recently inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame for the early days of his career when he recorded at Paula Records and released two singles. He also helped launch the new country radio station Y’all 106.7 in Nashville in June 2023, the first song playing on the station being one of his signature hits, “Forever and Ever, Amen.” The song was inspired by a quote from co-writer Don Schlitz’s son when he said, “Mommy, I love you forever and ever, amen.” The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 1987.
