More About The Journey – Part 3’s First Disc
The first disc of the upcoming anthology was personally curated by Kinks frontman Ray Davies, guitarist Dave Davies, and drummer Mick Avory. The tracks were remastered from the original quarter-inch production master tapes.
The disc features some of the band’s most popular songs and biggest hits from the late 1970s and early ’80s. They include “Catch Me Now I’m Falling,” “(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman,” “A Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy,” “Come Dancing,” “Do It Again,” “Better Things,” “Low Budget,” and “Living on a Thin Line.”
“Come Dancing” was tied for The Kinks’ highest-charting hit in the U.S. The 1982 tune peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, as did the band’s 1965 ballad “Tired of Waiting for You.”
More Details About the Compilation’s Second Disc
The Kinks’ 1993 performance at the Royal Albert Hall recently was discovered in the archives of the band’s Konk studio. The show featured a mix of classics and deep cuts spanning the group’s career.
