The Pretenders have announced plans to release a new concert album called Pretenders Live – Kick ’Em Where It Hurts! The 17-song collection, which is due out on June 13, will be available as a limited-edition two-LP set packaged in a gatefold sleeve and pressed on black heavyweight vinyl.

The double-disc set can be pre-ordered now exclusively at the band’s official online store. A bundle featuring the two-LP release and a red 2024 tour T-shirt also is available at the website. The shirt features an image taken from The Pretenders’ 2023 album, Relentless, that of a toddler wearing boxing gloves and sporting a black eyepatch.
The live album also will be available as a digital download and via streaming services. The digital version can be pre-ordered and pre-saved here.
Recordings of three performances from Kick ’Em Where It Hurts! have been made available as advance digital tracks. They are “You Can’t Hurt a Fool,” a soul-influenced ballad from The Pretenders’ 2020 album Hate for Sale, and two songs from the band’s classic 1984 album Learning to Crawl— the anthemic “Time the Avenger” and the country-rock rave-up “Thumbelina.”
More About the Kick ’Em Where It Hurts! Album
Kick ’Em Where It Hurts! is The Pretenders’ first official live album since the 2010 release Live in London.
The Pretenders’ set list featured on the album leans heavily on the band’s two most recent albums, Relentless and Hate for Sale, with a total of seven songs from those albums.
In 2022, frontwoman Chrissie Hynde announced in a social media post that the group would be shying away from playing concerts featuring mostly greatest hits. The band seemed to stick with that policy for the 2024 trek. That being said, Kick ’Em Where It Hurts! does include several popular Pretenders tunes, including “Talk of the Town,” “Back on the Chain Gang,” and “Middle of the Road.”
Among the deep cuts featured on the live album are “The Losing,” from the 2002 album Loose Screw; “Private Life,” from the Pretenders’ 1980 self-titled debut; and “Biker,” from the 1999 album ¡Viva El Amor!
