‘The Voice’ Season 26 Just Started and Gwen Stefani Has Already Blocked a Fellow Coach

Back in May, The Voice viewers cheered as Asher HaVon was crowned the season 25 winner, giving coach Reba McEntire her first victory. Now, Reba is back to defend her title against fellow vet coach Gwen Stefani and newcomers Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg. And the latest coaching lineup has already shown they won’t go down without a fight. In fact, Gwen Stefani blocked her barely 10 minutes into the season premiere.

Gwen Blocks Reba on ‘The Voice’ Country Singer’s Four-Chair Turn

Sand Spring, Oklahoma-born artist Jake Tankersley was first up for the The Voice season 26 blind auditions. And Tankersley certainly brought his A-game to Zach Bryan’s “Something in the Orange.” Coach Gwen Stefani sang along softly from her big red chair.

One social media viewer has already declared him The Voice’s next country artist.”

“Jake is giving me full body chills,” another fan wrote on X/Twitter.

Tankersley’s passionate vocals elicited the coveted four-chair turn from Stefani, Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dogg.

As the “Queen of Country,” Reba seemed like a natural choice for such a promising country act. But Stefani had something to say about that. The “It’s My Life” singer pressed her Block button, preventing Reba from selecting Tankersley for her team.

“Gwen already blocking,” one The Voice viewer wrote, adding a crying emoji.

Did It Work?

Gwen’s haste to hit the Block button proves what we already know. Reba McEntire is the one to beat in season 26. However, her tactic ultimately didn’t help her achieve her goal. Tankersley picked Snoop Dogg as his coach.

It was a promising start for the “Gin and Juice” rapper’s coaching debut on The Voice. “Really did not think I could possibly love Snoop more, and yet here we are. He’s PERFECT for this show,” one fan wrote.
