Ty Segall Releases New Single, Announces North American Tour

Multi-instrumentalist and garage-rock lifer Ty Segall has just released a psychedelic new single titled “Void,” which is accompanied by an equally trippy music video. Segall has also announced a 2024 North American tour. Next year’s tour will kick off in February and run through March, April, and May.

“Void” is a dynamic seven-minute song that transcends genres, tempos, and instruments. The music video is directed by Ty and his wife, Denée Segall, and was edited by Ty himself. The colorful visual depicts blurry, color-changing imagery as well as Segall wearing eerie masks designed by Sofia Arreguin, a former member of fellow psych-rockers Wand.

In addition to Segall’s 2024 dates, the musician will play multiple shows in North America in September, October, and November of this year, with The Freedom Band and Axis: Sova serving as the opening acts during select shows. The 2024 tour will begin with a show at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on February 20, 2024, and will conclude with a concert at Harlow’s in Sacramento on May 11.

Segall released his 14th studio album, Hello, Hi, on July 22, 2022. In an interview from then with Esquire, Segall discussed his feelings about live shows. “It’s hard to find your place, as a person on stage, with a microphone, because I just want to bring joy to people. I think that’s what people want when they come to our shows,” Segall said. “They want some sort of joy or a physical therapy of volume, or a sense of community.”
