While headlining his Quittin’ Time Tour in 2024, Zach Bryan also celebrated the release of his newest album, The Great American Bar Scene. Released just a few months ago, the country singer received high marks for songs like “American Nights” and “Oak Island.” But the love and support appeared to stop when he decided to jump on Twitter and suggest Kanye West was better than Taylor Swift. With the backlash from his comments mounting, the singer decided to clear the air with a heartfelt apology.

Sharing his thoughts on Twitter about Ye and Swift, Bryan wrote, “Eagles>chiefs/ Kanye>Taylor.” He added, “Who’s with me.” That last line seemed to echo the last few days as many lashed out at Bryan for his comments. And with Swifties entering the conversation, the country singer found out exactly who was with him.
Pausing his account, Bryan offered an apology on Instagram. Adding the song “Fortnight”, the country star wrote, “For the record guys, I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night. I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong. I know there’s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically.” He claimed, “I love Taylor’s music and pray you guys know I’m human and tweet stupid things often. Hope one day I can explain this to her.”
Not shying away from his troubles when using social media, Bryan continued, “Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I’d say it’s best I stay off it. I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I’m trying my best!”

2024 Not The Best Year For Zach Bryan
Although explaining himself and his reasoning for posting the message, Bryan didn’t stop there as he shared some insight into his own life. “I’ve been going through a hard time in my own life and I think I was projecting a little. To be completely honest, it just came off as rude and desensitized to Taylor. I respect her so much as a musician that the last thing I want is people thinking I don’t appreciate and love what she has done for music.”
While Bryan ended the message with “That’s the last of it” and “Don’t drink and tweet”, he continued to explain his side of the story. Using Swift’s version of “Castles Crumbling”, the singer wrote, “Not saving face here, but Taylor has been a force of nature for as long as we’ve all been growing up and I admire that. I’m gonna go listen to this record now.”
Bryan sent another message to fans, discussing his own struggles once again. “This year has been an awful lot on me in personal ways that no one knows and I’ve been trying to cope and balance too many things at once. So I’m going to take a breather from tweeting stupid stuff, finish my tour, and ground myself somehow in the midst of all this. I feel very, very blessed each day.”
Offering more than an explanation about his original tweet, Bryan eventually ended his messages, hoping that his apology was enough to calm the mountain of backlash he received over the past few days.
