Zach Bryan Celebrates Joining the Billions Club With a Special Thanks to Fans

Zach Bryan penned “Something in the Orange” in a Wisconsin cabin, inspired by a stunning sunset (and the word “orange.”) The Oklahoma native released it as the second single from his 2022 breakout album, American Heartbreak. Bryan had released viral hits before, but this tour de force of raw heartbreak and evocative imagery quickly became his signature tune. Recently, “Something in the Orange” hit 1 billion streams on Spotify, and the Navy veteran returned to social media to celebrate.

Zach Bryan Joins the Billions Club

With “Something in the Orange” transcending a billion views on Spotify, Zach Bryan becomes just the third solo country artist to accomplish this feat.

The “Pink Skies” hitmaker joins Chris Stapleton and Morgan Wallen in the elite club. Wallen came first with “Last Night.” Stapleton achieved the distinction with his cover of “Tennessee Whiskey.”

After a brief absence from social media, Bryan returned to X/Twitter to thank fans for helping him reach this milestone. “thank you guys so much for a billion on Something in The Orange,” wrote the “Heading South” hitmaker on Thursday (Aug. 29.) “Never in a million years could I of ever dreamed it. I love you guys so much and can’t explain how much it means.”

In a separate post, Bryan added, “pray I get to record music forever for you guys.”

On X/Twitter, one fan wrote, “I can’t begin to imagine how it feels to have thousands of people singing your song with you. A dream. Congratulations on a billion, man. Your music is really special to a lot of people.”

Bryan Doesn’t Want to Overload His Setlist With “Bummers”

Zach Bryan has made waves this year with his Quittin’ Time Tour. The artist knows how to fire up a crowd, and fans rarely leave disappointed. That is, unless Bryan skips his breakthrough hit “Something in the Orange.”

“A billion streams and yet you didn’t play it at the show in DC,” one fan commented on X/Twitter. “Was such a bummer!”

Bryan responded to the comment, admitting he strives for a balance of tear-jerkers and foot-stompers with each show.

“Didn’t want to put I remember everything and SITO in the same sets because I thought it would be too many bummers for one night but I think I was wrong,” he wrote. “Sorry to anyone who missed it.”
