In a new episode of Kelly Ripa’s Podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, Cooper talked about how he felt joining Madonna on stage. For the journalist, the moment was memorable, but mortifying.

“I loved the whole idea of it, I loved the experience, [but] I don’t love the video of it,” Cooper added. “I was terrible. I danced terribly. It was mortifying.”

Cooper went on to talk about Madonna’s incomparable stage presence and his, self-professed, lack thereof.

“And also, it makes you realize – we all watch people performing,” Cooper continued. “They make it look like it’s just so natural and normal. Even the way they are dancing, running, and walking down the stage. I’m like, ‘What do I skip?'”

“She hands me a banana and, right before that, she bends me over and humps me – which I didn’t expect at all,” Cooper continued. “Still to this day, I don’t know how that happened.”

Fans have the opportunity to see Madonna in all her unapologetic glory at her current Celebration Tour. Madge previously had to reschedule a slew of North American dates due to a health scare. The cancelled dates have now been pushed to December.

The new North American leg will kick off on December 13 at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn (the same venue that Cooper was brought on stage in). The UK and European legs of the tour will kick off on October 14.
