Consisting of former members of the Grateful Dead and singers like John Mayer, Dead & Company kicked off a residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas just last year. Gaining high praise for their concerts, the Dead Forever: Live at Sphere was only meant to include 24 shows. But due to fans, the band added six more shows. And if that wasnโt enough, Dead & Company brought the production back for another residency at the massive venue. Bringing in over $131 million at the Sphere, it seemed that the band was preparing for a string of concerts in the San Francisco area to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead.ย
With summer practically already here, news broke that Dead & Company was looking to perform at the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Taking place from August 1st to the 3rd, the announcement came from the mayor of San Francisco, Daniel Lurie. Excited to share the news on Twitter, he said, โDead & Co., three shows, August 1, 2 and 3, right here in the city that is the home of the Grateful Dead. What better way to celebrate. Weโll see you out here in August.โย

Already climbing over 116,000 views, fans who wanted to know about ticket information will have to wait. With Lurie not giving away any details, the post added, โStay tuned for more details from the band coming soon!โ
Fans Prepared To Open Their Wallets For Dead & Company
Although ticket prices have increased over the last few years, one fan didnโt care about the price as they wrote, โGreat. There goes another $10K out of my pocket.โ Another fan pointed to the difference a few decades made when it came to a Grateful Dead concert. โOnly difference being that, in ’67, Dead shows in GG Park were free; in ’25 a pair in the nosebleeds will be $450.โ
Again, no details surrounding the concert have been released, but fans are already preparing to drop a few hundred dollars to gain entry.
With the Grateful Dead formed in San Francisco, the city held a special place in the bandโs history. They even performed at the park several times. Besides the scheduled performances, the band would show up unannounced to put on a free concert.ย
Outside of celebrating the Grateful Deadโs legacy, the upcoming concert almost marked the birthday of Jerry Garcia, who sadly passed away back in 1995. Showcasing the talent that once composed the Grateful Dead, fans can still catch Dead & Company at the Sphere.
