The song will arrive on January 17, after Close Enemies initially reported it would be released on New Year’s Day.
A full-length album will be released later in 2025. Close Enemies’ music will be distributed through Virgin Music Group.
Coinciding with the single’s release, the band has confirmed an eight-date small-venue tour in January 2025. The trek kicks off January 8 in Philadelphia and is mapped out through a January 29 show in St. Louis. Six of the concerts will take place at City Winery venues, including in New York City, Boston, Nashville, Chicago, and the aforementioned Philadelphia and St. Louis.
The other two shows will be held at The Rex Theater in Manchester, New Hampshire, and the Daryl’s House Club in Pawling, New York.
More About Close Enemies
As previously reported, Close Enemies also features guitarists Trace Foster and Peter Stroud, drummer Tony Brock, and singer Chasen Hampton. Foster is Hamilton’s longtime bass tech, while Stroud has played with Sheryl Crow for 25 years. Brock is a founding member of The Babys, and also played with Rod Stewart for many years.
Hampton is an actor and singer who was part a Mickey Mouse Club cast member from 1989 to 1991. He also co-hosted the show in 1994. Later, he was a member of a band called The Party, and he also established a solo career.
Close Enemies played their first concert in October at Eastside Bowl in the Nashville suburb of Madison, Tennessee. The show featured mainly new original songs with some Aerosmith covers mixed into the set.
Comments from the Band Members
All of the Close Enemies members have issued statements about the band’s new record deal and music plans.
Hamilton said, “We’re really excited to be working with TLG/Virgin on the release of the Close Enemies record! They’re genuinely as excited about putting it out as we are! Can’t wait to see what happens!”
Brock noted “TLG/Virgin are the perfect match for Close Enemies as we are both SUPERGROUPS! Can’t wait to see the results!!”
Foster commented, “After spending a year on the writing and recording of this record, we were not going to sign with just anyone to put it out. Once we spoke with [TLG/ROCK CEO] Dennis Sanders and his team at TLG/Virgin, we knew we had an ally with the same vision.”
Hampton said, “Honored to join forces with history! TLG/Virgin/Universal Music Group are all proven visionaries and a perfect fit for this band of brothers. We are excited to get this music heard and be a part of this new family.”
Stroud added, “We could not ask for a better partner with Denny and The Label Group. His experience across all fronts of the industry is a perfect fit for Close Enemies. And I always prefer flying Virgin! It’s an honor to be playing with these musical brothers and now working with the ultimate team.”
Meanwhile, Sanders also issued a statement about the decision to sign Close Enemies.
“My good friend Andy Gallagher of the band Overhaul sent me the music,” he pointed out. “I absolutely loved it, then to find out who’s in the band, well that was just icing on the cake. We are all thrilled here at TLG to be working with Close Enemies.”
