Five years removed from Pusha T accusing Drake of being an absent father on his now-classic 2018 diss “The Story of Adidon,” Drake has platformed his son in a major way. On Friday (October 6), Drake included the 5-year-old on “Daylight,” the fifth track on his latest album For All The Dogs.

After two verses and two renditions of the hook on the song, Drake lets Adonis rap a playful verse about his father, whom he refers to as “my man.”

In fact, Adonis’ appearance on “Daylight” is the second time he was featured on For All The Dogs. A day before the LP dropped, Drake put out the second promotional single, “8AM in Charlotte,” where Adonis and Drake have a conversation that serves as a skit that leads into the song.

Discussing a drawing he made that was eventually used as the cover art for the LP, Adonis refers to his dad as a “goat,” which Drake interprets as the acronym instead of the animal, meaning “greatest of all time.” “8AM in Charlotte” would eventually be placed as the seventeenth track on For All The Dogs.
Earlier this year, Adonis made his first public appearance with his father in a February interview with Barstool’s Caleb Pressley. Jokingly discussing his academic life and why Drake is his “better dad,” Adonis’ level of charm and intellect at such an early age was made quite obvious. Going forward, though, we’ll just have to wait and see how involved he is in his dad’s creative pursuits.
