Filming on the new Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere began last week in New Jersey, and now the Boss himself has been spotted meeting his movie counterpart, Jeremy Allen White, face to face on set. The pics show the actor, who also stars in Hulu’s The Bear, and the rock legend chatting and then embracing.

Back in June, White revealed during a red-carpet interview with Variety, that he hadn’t met Springsteen yet, although he had been texting with him.

“We’ve communicated a little bit through some other people, but I hope this still all comes together,” he shared. “We’ve got some timing stuff to work out, and I’m trying to have a bit of my own process with [preparing for the role] before meeting the man, too.”

Meanwhile, Springsteen also was seen visiting the Deliver Me from Nowhere set on Friday, November 1, in Rockaway, New Jersey. NJ.com reported that the Boss was seen talking with British actor Stephen Graham, who plays Bruce’s father, Douglas “Dutch” Springsteen. The production was apparently filming scenes from Springsteen’s childhood.

NJ.com also noted that Springsteen signed copies of the script for Graham and members of the film crew. Photos also captured Bruce talking to director Scott Cooper and author Warren Zanes, who wrote the book on which the movie is based.

More About Deliver Me from Nowhere

As mentioned, Deliver Me from Nowhere is based on musician-turned-author Zanes’ 2023 non-fiction novel of the same name. The book tells the story of the making of Springsteen’s acclaimed, stripped-down 1982 acoustic album, Nebraska.

Springsteen and his longtime manager, Jon Landau, are both involved in the production of the movie.

On October 28, 20th Century Studios posted a photo offering a first look at White as Springsteen. The pic featured the actor with a pensive expression wearing a denim jacket over a plaid flannel shirt.

Besides White and Graham, the cast includes Succession star Jeremy Strong as Landau and Johnny Cannizzaro as E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt. Cannizzaro previously portrayed Four Seasons member Nick DeVito in the film version of the popular stage musical Jersey Boys.

Deliver Me from Nowhere is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
